PSHE education helps pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society. From making responsible decisions about alcohol to succeeding in their first job, PSHE education helps pupils to manage many of the most critical opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they will face growing up.
All pupils from Year 7 through to Year 11 will explore a spiral curriculum exploring key issues and topics under the 3 PSHE umbrella topics of 'Health and Wellbeing', 'Relationships' and 'Living in the Wider World'. Pupils will access these topics within fortnightly curriculum lessons, however, these topics will be supported through the PDL sessions within tutor time as well as encompassing key events and awareness days throughout the year.
Pupils will also be able to enhance and deepen their exploration and knowledge within more sensitive topics through our specialist learning days throughout the year with guest speakers, special events and First Aid Training.
The John Baker Suite is an exciting PSHE dedicated learning space and pupils will be able to use this space at breaks and lunches as an area of support and sanctuary with members of teaching staff and the Pupil Leadership Team on hand if they need anyone to speak to.
