PPS Enrichment Academy
During the summer holidays 2024, Purbrook Park School held an Enrichment Academy for our future Year 7 pupils. Focussed on smoothing the transition process from primary school to secondary school and allowing our new pupils to meet their new friends the Enrichment Academy provided an introduction to life at our incredible school.
Led by the staff that would become their teachers, the Enrichment Academy gave a wide variety of different practical activities that made learning fun and the school less daunting. From Practical Maths to Hysterical History, Crazy Science to Sporting Stars pupils rocketed, bounced, acted and orienteered their way around the school site. Meeting and making friends was a key focus and free food at break times and lunchtimes maintained the feel good factor.
Below you will find the initial impact of the Enrichment Academy:
“My child was particularly nervous about navigating the school. Enrichment week helped with this. Also, the quality of the activities was superb. My son was so enthusiastic to start in September because of this!” Year 7 parent
"I passed on my thanks on the last day, as I thought the whole thing was fantastic, and was truly grateful to all the teachers who gave up the first week of their summer holidays for the benefit of the children. Much appreciated". Year 7 parent.
"I can't think of anything to improve it. The week was brilliantly organised, fun, and engaging. Well done Purbrook Park." Year 7 parent.
"The best bit for me was getting to know the school and some of the teachers. It really helped me to find my classes when the school year began." Year 7 pupil.
