Attendance & Punctuality
At Purbrook Park School we expect excellent attendance and punctuality from our pupils. Pupils who attend school regularly, and on time, make the most progress and secure the best results.
To reward those pupils who attend school every day, and on time, we award House praise points. Pupils who secure 100% attendance, win certificates and additional points for their House. Pupils who achieve 100% attendance for the whole school year are invited to our annual Prize Giving ceremony, where they receive a special certificate and award.
Requests to authorise absence from school due to exceptional circumstances
We are only able to authorise absence from school in exceptional circumstances. Requests should be made in writing, and forwarded to the appropriate House Leader. Forms are available from the Pastoral Hub.
Please note: family holidays in term time will not be authorised.
If you take your son/daughter out of school without permission, the absence will be unauthorised, and a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) may be issued by Hampshire County Council (HCC) OR may result in a prosecution if a previous penalty notice has been issued.
You are advised not to make any arrangements until your request has been considered, to avoid disappointment.
If you have any questions about your son/daughter's attendance or punctuality, please contact your son/daughter's House Leader. You can also read more in our Attendance Statement, attached below.
