Artist study page/annotate to meet GCSE criteria

Background, title, 3 pieces of  artists work

Analysis, opinion

Artist response/create a piece inspired by chosen artist

 MOCK ASSESSMENT – WHOLE DEPARTMENT

Pupils will put together a mock portfolio based around a set  or chosen brief. This will compile all

4 assessment objectives and be moderated across the department.

KS4 Year 10

Autumn & Spring

 Project 1

Pupils to be given a choice of briefs as a starting point for Component 1 or the option to use their own

idea. SPECIAL FOCUS ON AO1 AND AO2

AO2: Experimentation using a wide range of different materials and methods to introduce creative ideas.

Continuous development of ideas through experimentation to be evident. Minimum of 4 photoshoots.

AO3: Linking artists and ideas back to the brief to show how research has informed ideas. Pupils will

continuously refer back to inspiration and artists to strengthen ideas and portfolio.

AO4: Final Outcome that shows a meaningful response to research, experimentation and development

of ideas. Must link to brief topic and be informed by AO1-3

Summer

 Continue to work on Project 1 Component 1. SPECIAL FOCUS ON  AO3 & AO4

Pupils must work to a strict deadline and all work will be marked and finalised as a department.

KS4 Year 11

Autumn

 Completion of Component 1

 A portfolio that shows explicit coverage of the four assessment objectives. The portfolio must evidence

the journey from initial engagement to the realisation of intentions and a selection of further work

undertaken during the pupil’s course of study.

AO1 AO2 AO3 AO4

Pupils will continuously work on sketchbooks and develop outcomes while acting on feedback given by

Teachers. All pupils to utilise sessions provided within the Department to improve and finalise

individual outcomes by December.
