Relationship & Sex Education (RSE)
Relationship and Sexual Education (RSE) is lifelong learning about physical, sexual, moral and emotional development. It is an important topic. As such, the government made it a compulsory part of pupils' education.
At Purbrook Park School, we build RSE learning into our curriculum. Pupils will cover a variety of topics during their PSHE lessons, during tutor time, and during specific RSE lessons that occur during Enrichment.
RSE is about understanding the importance of stable and loving relationships, respect, love and care in family life. It involves acquiring information, developing skills and forming positive beliefs, values and attitudes. RSE supports children and young people's personal development, including their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. It aims to help children and young people deal with the real-life issues they face as they grow up and encounter as adults. Their learning will support them both online and offline, to make informed choices about their safety, physical and mental health, enabling them to live positive and fulfilled lives.
For more information, please see our RSE Policy, which can be found in the Policy Download section of this website.
